Autodesk Announces the retirement of Land Development Desktop
The product that began as a tool for Civil Engineers from DCA Engineering and evolved through the Softdesk brand
as one of the leaders for Design professionals is being retired by Autodesk. The 2009 release is officially the
last release of the product.
Autodesk believes that their model-based solution, Civil 3D will be the solution for organizations moving forward.
While Civil 3D is an impressive tool with some terrific features, it may not be appropriate for every organization.
Larger firms can generally absorb the costs associated with this transition and may benefit from its features while
smaller firms may need to look for other options.
